the MOVE MUTT co. - Exercise therapy for shelter & rescue dogs

Most 'problem' dogs end up in shelters due solely to basic behavioral issues which are actually quite simple to correct through exercise alone. By eliminating common behavior problems before sending the dog into another home, we've greatly decreased the chance of that animal returning to another shelter or, worse, to death. With innovative training techniques, individual interaction and structured exercise therapy, Move Mutt can help greatly improve behavior which has now been proven to significantly  increase adoption rates and lower euthanasia numbers.

Our Mission
is to help each adoptable shelter and rescue dog become healthy both physically and emotionally, increasing their chance for success in finding a forever home.

Our Vision
is to create a better community by working with pets through exercise and education, creating healthy, happy, life-long relationships between people and pets.

Our Latest Success Story:

ADOPTED!!! 4/25/2012
Chancz,1 yr. old, blue/brindle pit bull mix.
This beautiful boy was spotted laying under a bush in the Las Vegas desert.
After a while of coaxing and approaching while he postured, growled and tucked his tail, he allowed me to inch my way toward him until he was instantly transformed into a wiggle worm in my lap.

He is a young male, weighing about 70 lbs. and has beautiful blue/gray eyes. He is a blue/brindle with white markings.
He LOVES adults, children, other dogs and even cats! He was not wearing a collar and is not micro-chipped. We took him to a local vet and discovered that he had Generalized Demodectic Mange - a non-contagious, curable condition. We were extremely fortunate to have a financial sponsor for the $1250 plus his medical bills totaled.

After months of waiting to find a home they could have Chancz in, the Wilson's finally got their wish.  He is now a cherished member of their family with enough love to go all around.

“Hear our humble prayer, o God, for our friends the animals who are suffering; for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry….We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity, and for those who deal with them we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words. Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals and so to share the blessings of the merciful.”
